Trumbull Services Moves into Application Service Provider Arena
Windsor, CT-based Trumbull Services, L.L.C., an innovative provider of outsourcing solutions to the insurance and financial industry, has expanded its role to include Application Service Provider (ASP) capabilities. As an ASP, Trumbull Services brings state-of-the-art insurance systems to the marketplace. Trumbull offers systems for both commercial and personal lines policy administration, including business owner's policy (BOP), workers' compensation, personal auto and homeowners; as well as systems for premium collection, premium billing and claim subrogation.
Trumbull's Windows based/web enabled policy issuance systems operate in a client server environment and provide the capability to process all transactions including policy printing, while producing statistical data for each transaction. Clients will access the front end of this system over the Internet with the system residing on Trumbull's server. A client's own staff will control policy production.
"The relationship resembles a leasing arrangement in the sense that the client pays for continued use of the application, but does not shoulder the burden of maintenance through ownership," said Denis Thompson, Trumbull Services' Personal Lines vice president. He adds, "The arrangement may prove more economical for both large and small companies compared to the cost and time required with purchasing applications, or developing them in house."
The systems can be customized to meet the specific needs of a company. "The features of Trumbull Services' ASP applications really depend on what clients require and feel they need," said Joe Treacy, vice president of Commercial Lines at Trumbull Services. "As an ASP we have the ability to customize our applications based on client needs and state requirements, including interfaces to backend billing and management information systems."
As an ASP, Trumbull also offers its collection and subrogation systems, which utilize the patented Matador operating system. The systems are maintained on Trumbull's server – with clients gaining access to the front end of the system and their own staff handling the process. "The Matador operating system is a state of the art business process for managing collections and subrogation," explains Alan Aleia, vice president of Trumbull's financial services. "As the level of technology soars in the marketplace, our products and services must also maintain the level of sophistication that the marketplace is demanding." Trumbull's Matador operating system is the intelligence behind other Trumbull products for collection and subrogation. Adds Aleia, "Our role as an ASP allows us, to offer our products to a broader and more diverse market. The Internet has given more companies access to more advanced systems."
There are many benefits for clients to use an Application Service Provider and by using Trumbull Services, there are even more. "Not only are we providing access to state-of-the-art systems for a modest investment, but we also have an experienced insurance staff that can assist with some, or all of the process." said Ellen Wilcox, president of Trumbull Services. "For some clients we will act solely as an ASP. For others we can offer a variety of backroom services."
Trumbull Services provides a vast array of outsourcing services to insurers, agents, brokers and financial institutions.
