Travelers Elects New Chairman

Jay S. Fishman was elected chairman of the board of directors of Travelers Property Casualty Corp. Fishman will continue in his positions of president and chief executive officer.

Fishman joined Primerica (now Citigroup) in 1989 and joined the Travelers insurance operations upon its acquisition by Primerica at the end of 1993. At Travelers, Fishman has served in a number of posts, including chief financial officer and chief administrative officer. Travelers Property Casualty was formed and an initial public stock offering made in April 1996. Later that year, he was named president and chief operating officer of commercial lines and in January of 1998, he was named the unit's chief executive officer. He was appointed president and chief executive officer of Travelers Property Casualty in October of 1998.
