Three Carriers Commit To National Branding Program, Reports Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers Of NY

DeWitt, NY — Trusted Choice, the exclusive Big "I" national branding program highlighting tailor-made insurance coverage available only through an independent insurance agent or broker, has received the support of three insurance companies committed to expanding the program. The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of New York, Inc. has announced that National Grange Mutual Insurance Company, Selective Insurance and Encompass Insurance have offered additional support and financial resources to enable independent New York State agencies and brokerages to become members of Trusted Choice.

To promote the cause, National Grange has offered a 50 percent reimbursement for the cost of a one-year membership in Trusted Choice to its New York State independent agencies who are Big "I" members. "Consumers select the independent agent because of choice, expertise and advocacy," said Thomas Van Berkel, president and CEO of National Grange's parent company, The Main Street America Group. "Let's build our brand together and get everyone to support Trusted Choice."

Selective Insurance's dedication to the national program has led to its creation of a Trusted Choice branding strategy entitled, Individual Agency How-To Guide, available on its Website. James Caragher, senior vice president, marketing and agency relationships, believes that "Trusted Choice is a valuable tool in an ever increasing competitive market. An agency must take action to stand out in the minds of consumers."

Encompass Insurance recently invited IIABNY representatives to present the national brand message during a statewide promotion of its own. In a recent Special Value Auto and Home Products rollout held across New York State, the Trusted Choice message was featured at all 12 promotion locations.

A Trusted Choice agent isn't an employee of an insurance company. Trusted Choice agents and brokers represent multiple insurance companies, so they can offer a variety of coverage choices and customize a plan to meet their clients' specialized needs.
