Thomas to Lead New Kemper Industrial and Commercial Property Segment
Glenn Thomas, a 30-year insurance veteran, has joined Kemper Property as vice president, industrial and commercial, reporting to Akos Swierkiewicz, senior vice president. Kemper Property is a newly formed member of the Kemper Casualty Company, targeting large and complex property risks.
The industrial and commercial unit will target Fortune 2000 risks in a variety of classes of business. It will focus on low to middle level attachment point layers covering property damage, including boiler and machinery and time element exposures. Business will be written primarily through nationwide and regional brokers.
``Glenn is an important addition to Kemper Property's management team,'' said Akos Swierkiewicz, head of Kemper Property. ``He is a highly skilled large-property underwriter with a long and successful track record.''
Princeton-based Kemper Property is establishing a national underwriting branch in New York, N.Y. It will also underwrite energy and chemical property risks.
Before joining Kemper Property, Thomas was an executive with the Alternative Risk Group at Chubb. He had previously served as a senior vice president of Reliance National's commercial property lines. He was also a commercial lines underwriting executive for Transamerica and Industrial Indemnity.
