State Farm To Boost Connecticut Activities
State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company will begin actively marketing in Connecticut in the year 2000, according to State Farm Vice President for Connecticut, Matt Hodson. To date, State Farm says, the company has made personal auto and homeowners insurance available in Connecticut only to policyholders who moved into the state. The company presently insures 44,000 autos and 11,500 homes in Connecticut.
"We're the 13th largest auto insurer and the 29th largest homeowners insurer in Connecticut," Hodson said. "We expect that will change once we begin our marketing efforts and people become familiar with the terrific service and consumer advice available from State Farm agents. Our goal is to eventually become the leading car, home and life insurer in the state, by earning the trust and respect of the people of Connecticutone customer at a time."
Besides auto and homeowners insurance, State Farm also plans to offer life, long term care, disability, business insurance, and annuities to the state's 3.3 million residents.
