S&P Ratings Added to Ebix Website

Rolling Meadows, IL-based Ebix.com says it has formed an agreement with Standard & Poor's to provide Standard & Poor's Insurer Financial Strength ratings on its site. The agreement makes Standard & Poor's the sole provider of rating content on the ebix.com site.

Standard & Poor's will provide ratings on over 5,000 carriers as a part of each quote sent to consumers.

Qualifying insurance companies will also be stamped with Standard & Poor's Security Circle Icon, which identifies those companies which have voluntarily undergone Standard & Poor's most stringent review and have achieved one of its top four rating categories.

``Having an industry leader like Standard & Poor's provide third-party carrier ratings on ebix.com gives consumers a level of trust in their insurance quotes that cannot be found on any other site,'' said Robin Raina, Ebix president and CEO.

``In today's complicated insurance market, one of the risks in buying insurance is assessing the financial strength of the insurer. We are pleased to team up with ebix.com to provide their users with Standard & Poor's ratings -- a valuable tool in helping them make a well-informed decision about insurance carriers,'' said Roy Taub, executive managing director at Standard & Poor's.
