Robert Bailey New CEO of NYMAGIC

NYMAGIC, Inc. says that Robert W. Bailey was unanimously elected chief executive officer at a special meeting of the board held on late last month. Bailey joined the board as a director in June 1999, and was appointed chairman on July 12. He will continue to serve the company both as chairman of the board and CEO.

Prior to affiliating with NYMAGIC, Bailey was a senior vice president of AON Reinsurance.

Bailey brings to the company more than forty years of experience in underwriting and broking in the direct and reinsurance marine and aviation markets.

The board of directors also announced that Paula-Jane Seidman was appointed vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. Seidman was elected at a meeting of the board held in September. She assumes the position with twenty years of diversified corporate, insurance and reinsurance experience, having joined the Company in April 1997 as assistant vice president and counsel.

NYMAGIC is an insurance holding company for New York Marine and General Insurance Company and Gotham Insurance Company. The Company specializes in marine, aviation and specialty lines in the property and casualty industry.
