Prudential Reduces Rates for Vermont Homeowners

Prudential Property and Casualty Insurance Company is reducing homeowners insurance rates by an average of 3.5 percent across Vermont. Some homeowners will enjoy reductions of as much as 17 percent.

"We're delighted to lower prices for our homeowner policyholders in Vermont for the second time in 18 months," says Tom Crawford, president, Prudential Property and Casualty Insurance Company.

"Not only are we offering lower prices, but our customers will find we've made terrific improvements to our customer service," Crawford continues. "State of the art technology enhances our claims handling process and makes it easier for our customers to do business with us—and that's our primary goal."

The price reductions take effect on July 24 for new homeowners policies, Crawford notes. Customers with existing policies will start seeing their savings as their policies renew on or after August 28.

A variety of discounts may help to lower Prudential premiums for Vermont homeowners even more. For example, the company's Companion for Life Discount can lower premiums by 10 percent in certain cases from customers who have both Homeowners and Life insurance policies with Prudential. Prudential also offers Companion Policy Discounts of up to 15 percent to customers who have Home, Life and Auto policies with the company. Other premium-savings discounts are available for mature homeowners, for homes that are less than five years old, and for homes equipped with protective devices, such as burglar and fire alarms and automatic sprinkler systems.

In addition to Homeowners, Prudential and its affiliates offer Auto, Personal Liability, Dwelling Fire, Condominium, Renters and Boat insurance to Vermont residents. Recently, the company also began insuring high value homes with a market value up to $950,000.
