Prudential Hires New Chief for Workplace, Affinity Marketing
The Prudential says that John Shinn has been named vice president of Workplace and Affinity Marketing, the company's voluntary benefits business unit. Shinn will oversee the unit's sales, customer relationship development and day-to-day operations and will report directly to Prudential Institutional CEO Jean Hamilton.
``John's extensive background in voluntary benefits and worksite marketing will be critical as we aggressively expand our worksite marketing capabilities and develop our Benefits & Beyond eBusiness model for the integration and delivery of employee benefits,'' said Hamilton. ``For almost two decades, John has demonstrated a keen understanding of this business and, most important, he's delivered impressive results. His skills and leadership will certainly give Prudential Institutional a competitive edge in this dynamic arena,'' Hamilton added.
Before joining Prudential, Shinn was most recently a vice president and product head in charge of the Group Property & Casualty Division at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. In that position, MetLife achieved a market leadership position in the Group Property and Casualty business.
Shinn also created an advanced payroll deduction system for MetLife and developed a leading marketing/sales model for communicating to employees about property and casualty products in the workplace. Prior to joining MetLife, Shinn spent eleven years in a variety of retail marketing positions with the May Department Stores company.
Prudential Workplace & Affinity Marketing offers a voluntary (employee or member pay all) benefits program for employees or group members.
