Pru P&C CEO Named Chair

Thomas W. Crawford, president and CEO, has been elected chairman of Prudential Property and Casualty Insurance Company (PRUPAC), Holmdel, N.J., and senior vice president of Prudential. He joined the company in 1996.

"Tom is a proven leader in the property and casualty field," says John Scicutella, CEO of Prudential's insurance unit. "Under his leadership PRUPAC has returned to a position of growth and profitability and was one of Prudential's strongest business units in 1997.''

Before joining Prudential, Crawford was president and chief executive officer of Southern Heritage Insurance Co., Atlanta, GA--a company he organized and founded in 1984.

Crawford is chairman-elect of the Board of Directors of the Alliance of American Insurers, and serves on the Boards of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, and the Central Jersey Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. He has also served as president of the Southern Underwriters Association.
