Progressive Auto Insurance Super Bowl XXXIII Halftime Show to Feature Gloria Estefan and Stevie Wonder

The Progressive Auto Insurance Super Bowl XXXIII Halftime Show will feature the talents of pop- singing sensation Gloria Estefan and Rock-and-Roll Hall of Fame member Stevie Wonder, Progressive and the National Football League (NFL) announced.

Progressive is the first-ever auto insurer to be the title sponsor of the NFL Super Bowl Halftime Show. The occasion will mark what the company describes as its first large-scale national introduction to consumers.

"Our goal in sponsoring the show is to have Progressive become a household name for all consumers—not just our policyholders,'' said Bob McMillan, Consumer Marketing Process Leader, Progressive. "We're proud to be the title sponsor of a show featuring such talented performers as Gloria and Stevie. It promises to be a memorable event for everyone watching."

More than 1,000 performers will participate in the 10-minute show, which will be produced by Radio City Productions. The show will be broadcast live from Miami's Pro Player Stadium by FOX on Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999. The game and show are expected to reach a potential global audience of 800 million viewers in approximately 180 countries. Radio City Productions has produced two of the highest-rated Super Bowl halftime shows.

"We are thrilled to have the talents of Gloria Estefan and Stevie Wonder to headline our halftime show," said NFL President Neil Austrian. "They are two super musical talents, who will combine their show-stopping sounds on Super Sunday to produce an unforgettable spectacle."
