Using SmartTran E-Business Server, insurance companies can connect insurance agents to their mainframe or AS/400-based policy application through a Web browser. The software allows insurance policy data to be extracted from the host in real-time, for online viewing and on-the-spot printing of articles.
The technology is performed through Adobe's PDF format. Insurance policy information is extracted from mainframe or AS/400 policy databases and placed in PDF-formatted ACORD forms while the agent is online through a Web browser to the host policy application.
