Written in Java and platform-independent, Policy STAR lets you tackle current challenges while you grow into the world of e-commerce. Property-casualty insurers will be able to leverage this browser-based system over the Internet and in the home office on an intranet.

Policy STAR is a browser-based policy administration system for property-casualty insurers that can tackle current needs and allow growth into e-commerce. Policy STAR is being developed with Enterprise Java Bean (EJB) component technology and will deliver online, real-time capabilities for all quote and policy processing functions. The system will go to beta in 2003.

Policy STAR's policy tree makes it easy to see the structure of a policy and to drill down into policy entities. For example, entities in an auto policy include drivers and vehicles. Other insurance products have entities specific to the line of business. The policy tree also lets you quickly launch transactions either for the policy or for a specific part of the policy.

The system integrates Client CORE™, a customer relationship management system. Customer information is immediately available through the integration of these two systems.

In addition to name and address information, Client CORE can show all the other relationships a client has through claims and billing accounts, plus relationships such as family members and business partners.
