Policy Management Systems In Deal With Interstate National

Policy Management Systems Corp. yesterday announced an agreement with Interstate National Corp. and its Interstate Insurance Group of Comps. to license PMSC's Point+ enterprise system, as well as PMSC's All Lines Rating, Document Automation Platform and PMSCiSolutions products.

Companies that are part of the deal include Chicago Insurance Co., Interstate Indemnity Co., and Interstate Fire and Casualty Co.

PMSC's Point+ processes personal and commercial lines of insurance and is available on either a Microsoft Windows NT or an IBM AS/400 platform. PMSC notes that, by operating under Windows technology, Point+ offers multi-tasking and a familiar desktop.

"Point+ will allow users to extend the core of the process to the point of sale," said PMSC Point+ Development Manager Bruce Van Hutten. "And with the use of DAP and PMSCiSolutions, our client will experience cost savings by immediately placing much more information into the agents' hands."

Interstate National Corp. Chief Information Officer Dave Miretzky added, "This strategic partnership with PMSC provides us the opportunity to improve our data quality, as well as increase our speed and efficiency. It also allows us to move from a mainframe platform to a Windows NT/SQL Server environment with the potential for building front-ends accessible via the Internet."
