Poe & Brown Seeks Name Change

Daytona and Tampa-based Poe & Brown says its Board of Directors has approved a change in the corporate name from "Poe & Brown, Inc." to "Brown & Brown, Inc."

The company says the change is a return to the original name of one of the two companies that combined in 1993 to form Poe & Brown. The name change is subject to the approval of the shareholders of the company at the next annual meeting.

The sixty-year-old firm is the 10th largest independent agency in the country.
