PMSC Gets Licensing Agreement With Alfa Insurance
Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) (PMSC) announced that Alfa Mutual Insurance Co. has licensed the S3+ enterprise system. S3+ is PMSC's flagship property and casualty processing system, operating on the Microsoft Windows NT platform.
In early 1999, Alfa formed an internal technology team to evaluate several available systems, as well as the feasibility of building a new system in-house. The team opted for the PMSC system. Alfa Senior Vice President and CIO John Jung said, ``This system impressed us with its contract preparations and eBusiness abilities."
S3+, PMSC's flagship P&C enterprise system constructed on the Microsoft Windows NT platform, is capable of processing commercial and personal lines of business. New to the S3+ system are:
- S3+ Document Solutions(TM), for printing and archiving policy documents
- S3+ Media View(TM), for retrieving and viewing documents and images
- S3+ Business Intelligence Solutions(TM), for reporting, querying, and
analyzing information
PMSC's products allow business transactions to be conducted with a web browser and basic connection to the Internet. S3+ Release 2.0 provides complete support for a thin client deployment using Microsoft Terminal Server and Citrix MetaFrame. This system can utilize a browser as the client workstation, significantly lowering deployment costs.
Alfa, founded in 1946 by what is now known as the Alabama Farmers Federation, is based in Montgomery, AL.
