PMA Launches PMA Horizons... National Capabilities

The PMA Insurance Group, a regional property and casualty insurance organization based in suburban Philadelphia, has launched an initiative, PMA Horizons... National Capabilities, to broaden its reach. The company says the initiative is designed to help PMA more fully address the risk management needs of clients within its marketing territory (Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Washington D.C.).

PMA Horizons... National Capabilities is a multi-year initiative in which three of the companies that comprise The PMA Insurance Group (Pennsylvania Manufacturers' Association Insurance Company, Manufacturers Alliance Insurance Company and Pennsylvania Manufacturers Indemnity Company) are being licensed in all 50 states over the next few years, enabling the organization to write business on its own paper nationwide.

``The goal of PMA Horizons is to increase market share in our marketing territory,'' says Vincent Donnelly, president and chief operating officer of The PMA Insurance Group. ``Increasingly, our client base is comprised of companies with one or more operations outside of our current marketing territory. PMA Horizons was specifically designed to address their needs. The initiative enables The PMA insurance Group to offer increased flexibility in plan design along with our excellent service program.''

Donnelly added that the program will enable PMA to prospect for a wider universe of accounts within its marketing territory. The initiative supports PMA's strategy of being positioned as one of the leading regional insurance carriers in the U.S.

The program expands The PMA Insurance Group's capabilities in several lines of business -- workers' compensation, integrated disability and other commercial lines. The PMA Insurance Group recently completed the first phase of the project. Pennsylvania Manufacturers' Association Insurance Company is now operational for 36 states.
