Pierce Leahy Acquires Kestrel, Three Other Firms

Pierce Leahy Corp. says it has bought four records management firms: Data Protection Services, Inc. of Birmingham, AL; Bender Records Management, Reno, NV; Keystone Records Storage, Harrisburg, PA; and Kestrel Data Management and Storage, Houston and Dallas, TX. Total consideration for these purchases was approximately $57 million. Kestrel represents more than 90 percent of this total.

J. Peter Pierce, president and chief executive officer, Pierce Leahy Corp. states, "These acquisitions provide us with additional space and talent in our important existing markets of Birmingham, Houston and Dallas, while Reno and Harrisburg represent exciting new opportunities for us.

"With the addition of Kestrel, contributing some 2.5 million cubic feet of storage, we have substantially enhanced our positions in Houston and Dallas. Each of the firms was chosen to join us because each fits nicely into our strategic growth plan while each has demonstrated a commitment to quality customer service, the hallmark of our company's success."
