Penn National Chooses Unicenter TNG for Workload Management
Computer Associates International, Inc. recently announced that Penn National Insurance has selected Unicenter TNG to help control its enterprise workload management and server proliferation. CA Services supported the Unicenter TNG implementation.
As Penn National Insurance's network traffic began taking off, performance became an issue. To compound the difficulty, the network of independent agents was clamoring for more Internet-based service offerings, putting even more pressure on operations and the server budget.
While Penn National Insurance rolled out increasingly feature-rich information application, the operations department struggled to balance workloads, maintain performance standards and make the help desk more responsive to a growing volume of inquiries. Moreover, the company was concerned by the cost of all the servers it was installing to keep up with demand.
Unicenter TNG provides a single point of control for managing all resources critical to e-business availability, including systems, networks, applications, databases and access to the Internet.
Within weeks of installing the software, Penn National Insurance began seeing significant benefits, especially in the area of workload management. For the first time, the company will now be able to look into workload scheduling across all its platforms from a centralized location.
