New Crawford Surveillance Unit to Focus on Workers' Comp, Liability Cases

Archie Meyers, Jr., chairman and CEO of Atlanta-based Crawford & Company says the acquisition Orlando-based Greentree Investigations, a surveillance service, has been finalized.

Meyers said, ``Crawford's Investigation Services division has built a worldwide reputation for providing superior subrogation investigations in countless manmade and natural disasters. Greentree's services focus on surveillance in workers' compensation and liability cases for insurance companies and self-insured corporations.

``This acquisition provides an outstanding complement to our existing services. Our clients will be the real winners,'' he added.

Bryan Maphet, vice president and director of Crawford Investigation Services, said, ``Our combined teams provide a platform which will offer unprecedented opportunities for our clients to better manage risk. The operations of Greentree will become Crawford's Surveillance Investigation Services Unit as part of Crawford's Investigation Services division, improving the breadth of capabilities we offer our domestic clients.''

Greentree President Jason Atkins will become director of Crawford's new Surveillance Investigation Services Unit. He said, ``Greentree offers improved quality control from a team of bonded investigators; a clear extension of the quality service Crawford clients already receive. Crawford & Company's desire to combine surveillance with its existing global investigations team is no doubt a visionary move.''
