Mobius Management Systems Chief Receives Ernst & Young Award

Mitch Gross, president, CEO and co-founder of Rye, NY-based Mobius Management Systems, Inc. has received the Entrepreneur of the Year award for Southern New England, presented by Ernst & Young. The Entrepreneur of the Year program was founded in 1986 by Ernst & Young and is produced by the firm. It honors "outstanding owners of fast-growing companies, and recognizes entrepreneurs who have demonstrated excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities."

Mobius Management Systems, Inc. was founded in 1981 by Mitch Gross and the current executive vice president, Joe Albracht, as an information technology company. Today it is a $55 million provider of packaged software to more than 1,200 major organizations world wide, including 58 of the Fortune 100. The company's "Electronic Document Warehouse" is an integrated suite of software products for high-volume archiving and viewing of transactions and documents in complex computing environments.

Mr. Gross won the Entrepreneur of the Year award in the competitive technology category. Southern New England winners are now eligible to participate in the national Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards competition, which culminates in a nationally televised gala as part of the annual Entrepreneur of the Year Institute International Conference in Palm Springs, California, November 12-15, 1998. Previous Entrepreneur of the Year award recipients include Michael Dell of Dell Computer Corporation, Howard Schultz of Starbucks Coffee, Leon Gorman of L. L. Bean and Steve Case of America Online.
