Mitchell is expanding our electronic capabilities as the industry gradually moves towards a "paperless" claims process. We employ hundreds of technical support personnel and integration specialists who are experienced in transitioning our customers away from a manual, paper-based work environment. While Decision Point can operate in virtually every claim environment, its powerful tools are maximized when data delivery is automated as well.
Our goal is to deliver every medical bill received to your adjuster after it has been processed through the Decision Point suite of applications, so that individual has more information available to make an informed claim decision upfront. Similarly, we can help you take advantage of electronic connectivity to pay providers more cost effectively.
Mitchell's current electronic data transmission strategy is centered on the use of accepted national and industry standard formats. For example, we support provider bills submitted electronically using the ASC X12 837 transaction format.
We offer clearinghouse capability for the receipt and transmission of provider bill data. We are the only clearinghouse to index auto claim numbers and to provide an automated mechanism for sending medical bill attachments such as operative reports and discharge summaries. As a clearinghouse dedicated to automobile insurance customers, Mitchell acts as a universal portal, collecting all transactions available from other clearinghouses that are addressed to our clients. The benefit to insurance carriers is the simplicity of supporting only one interface to Mitchell rather than many different interfaces with other clearinghouses.
Mitchell is also capable of accepting electronic remittance advices and electronic funds transfers if the client is interested in paying providers via bundled electronic fund transfers.
