Michael Canter Named Vice President, Insurance Securitization, AIG Risk Finance

American International Group, Inc. (AIG) has announced that Michael S. Canter has joined AIG Risk Finance as senior vice president, Insurance Securitization. The risk finance division of AIG designs and implements creative financing solutions for clients requiring the advanced risk management capabilities.

Previously, Mr. Canter served as vice president of Hedge Financial Products, Inc., a subsidiary of CNA Financial Corp., where he was involved in the securitization of insurance risk and the development of programs that integrate financial and commodity risk within traditional insurance policies.

Mr. Canter holds a Ph.D. in Finance from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business, where he was also a Research and Teaching Assistant in the Department of Finance and Economics. He holds a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University.
