``Our focus is to provide the New York area with a dedicated team of insurance professionals who have full authority to make decisions on the spot and the capability to provide innovative solutions to our customers,'' said Gary Tully, chief executive officer of the Financial Insurance Solutions division.

``Nicholas' global perspective, enhanced by his years in the Bermuda market, coupled with the diverse background of his team give us what we need to succeed in New York, and will help us to achieve a leading worldwide presence in non-traditional underwriting.''

Most recently, Braun was a national accounts manager for the Aon Corporation in New York City, where he specialized in financial insurance products. Braun began his career at The Chubb Corporation in 1988 as an underwriter in the Department of Financial Institutions.

David Kahn also joins Kemper as an assistant vice president and will underwrite both commercial and financial customers in the New York region, with a focus on growth and emerging industries, including technology, telecommunications and biotechnology. Kahn joins from Tamarack American, where he was responsible for underwriting commercial D&O insurance and other executive liability blended programs.
