InternetForms System

UWI.Com and VeriSign have joined up to provide enterprise customers with Internet forms technology

UWI.Com, an internet forms company and VeriSign, a provider of public key infrastructure (PKI) and certificate authority (CA) solutions, have joined up to provide enterprise customers with Internet forms technology integrating the use of digital certificates. The two companies will work together to provide customers with the ability to incorporate digital certificate technology with Internet-based forms so that organizations can ensure secure communications and commerce on the Internet.

Digital certificates serve as electronic credentials over the Internet for businesses and individuals on the Internet. They are used in the same way as birth certificates, passports or business licenses, to authenticate the identity and credentials of parties conducting private communications and transactions or accessing privileged information. Digital certificates authenticate the sender of messages, encrypt messages, ensure message integrity, and protect privacy on the Web.

UWI.Com produces software that allows organizations to move their business forms to the Internet, saving both time and money over traditional form solutions such as paper and electronic forms. In combination with digital certificate solutions from VeriSign, UWI.Com's InternetForms System can replace other forms solutions at a lower cost with much greater security enhancements. With this solution, an insurance company, for example, can have its clients use digital signatures to sign their insurance documents to process claims. Since the entire process is performed online with InternetForms and digital certificates, the system is efficient, publicly available, secure, and filed for future reference.

UWI.Com's InternetForms System uses digital certificates to allow users to authorize or legally endorse forms on the Internet. Users can "digitally sign" forms online without having to print them out and get physical signatures. Digital signatures also ensure that once an InternetForm is signed it cannot be tampered with nor repudiated. Because InternetForms apply the signature to the entire form, including the questions, answers, and layout, an accurate record of the form is created and the online form is as reliable as paper.
