Internet Scanner enables network administrators to manage network security risks with the aid of a comprehensive database of attacker methods and security vulnerabilities

Internet Scanner, from Internet Security Systems (ISS), enables network administrators to manage network security risks with the aid of a comprehensive database of attacker methods and security vulnerabilities, which it uses to scan the network and identify security holes automatically.

The detection software evaluates the security of an entire enterprise network and intranet—including all Unix, Windows NT and Windows 95 machines, as well as firewalls, Web servers, routers and applications—and responds with detailed, easy-to-understand corrective actions, automatic prioritization of security risks and a series of technical and management reports.

ISS's XForce, a research and development team dedicated to collecting and identifying new security weaknesses, updates Internet Scanner on a regular basis, ensuring that customers' systems are protected from newly discovered security threats.
