Insurdata Installs Imaging System for Student Insurance

Insurdata Incorporated, a tech firm serving the claims and administration segment of the healthcare industry, says it has completed implementation of Insur-Image, a claims imaging system, for Student Insurance. Dallas-based Student Insurance is the nation's largest provider of regular and specialty medical insurance packages for student populations of large U.S. universities, as well as K-12 environments.

Insurdata, along with its subsidiary Satellite Imaging Systems , teamed with Student Insurance to deploy a system that eliminates the front-end keying and verification steps for claims processing and presents electronic claims to an examiner through a workflow solution.

`This project is a significant step toward achieving a true 'paperless' workflow environment,'' says Tony Higgins, president of Student Insurance.

In this imaging/Electronic Data Interface solution, the claim forms received by Student Insurance are scanned using Insurdata's Insur-Image solution. The image is then sent to SIS, where the information is verified and edited, and the system transmits the EDI transaction back to Student Insurance. There, an assisted adjudication workflow solution is applied to determine reimbursement to the insured.
