ICSA Offers Hacker Insurance To Companies Certified Through Its TruSecure Program

Malicious Internet attacks whether or not they result in business loss, are to be covered by ICSA, Inc., in a new component to its Internet security assurance service, TruSecure. According to the company, those businesses who have been certified through the ICSA TruSecure program will benefit from the industry's first comprehensive security assurance service backed by hacker insurance.

ICSA TruSecure Insurance will cover seven types of incidents. They include: loss of Internet email service; loss of other Internet service; public defacement of web page; unauthorized external root control via the Internet or firewall; loss of Internet transactional system; malicious alteration, damage or destruction of sensitive data; and loss of information by malicious eavesdropping.

"Our unprecedented guarantee to protect against business loss indicates how firmly ICSA believes in the effectiveness of TruSecure," said Dr. Peter Tippett, president of ICSA. "Although 100% security is unattainable in real-world environments, our experience has shown that TruSecure dramatically reduces security threats by helping clients identify their vulnerabilities and reengineer their security processes."

ICSA will pay the insured company $20,000 per incident, per certified site, up to two times their annual cost of ICSA TruSecure, with a maximum annual payment of $250,000.

TruSecure is an integrated and continuous service which protects an organization's network perimeter from intruder penetration and can benefit any business connected to the Internet, the company says.

TruSecure clients participate in a six step process which includes thorough testing of current vulnerabilities; electronic performance review; transfer of a methodology of best practices to bring the system up to security standards; on-site audits; security updates and alerts; and periodic spot-checks.

Once a client's network has been certified by ICSA it is entitled to receive TruSecure insurance protection. ICSA TruSecure is a continuous program, working with clients to test and analyze vulnerabilities on an ongoing basis throughout the year.
