Hughes Names McEachen Treasurer, Vice President

Mark McEachen has been elected treasurer and corporate vice president of Hughes Electronics Corp.

McEachen, 40, has responsibility for all treasury functions for Hughes, including global treasury operations, project finance, treasury benefits and insurance, and corporate real estate. He reports to Roxanne Austin, corporate senior vice president and chief financial officer of Hughes Electronics.

McEachen joins Hughes from Transamerica Corp., where he was president of Transamerica Asset Management, and previously served as vice president and treasurer of Transamerica. Before Transamerica, McEachen held a number of positions at Chrysler Corp., including treasurer of Chrysler Canada Ltd., and various positions in operating units and Chrysler's corporate office.

McEachen earned a bachelor's degree in economics in 1980 from the University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario, Canada; a bachelor's degree in finance in 1982, and a master's of business administration in 1982, both from the University of Windsor, Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
