HSB Engineering Insurance Limited Opens New York Office

HSB Engineering Insurance Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of HSB Group, Inc. with customers in 89 countries, has opened a New York office. Headquartered in London, HSB Engineering Insurance Limited provides specialized insurance and reinsurance with engineering services worldwide to businesses, industries and governments.

"The New York operation will provide us with new sources of international business opportunities," said William Voegtle, who heads the New York office as executive director, reporting to Dr. William Stockdale, chief executive officer of HSB Engineering Insurance Limited. "New York is a center of international business activity and a headquarters for leading insurance brokers who represent the business interests of clients abroad."

Voegtle joined The Hartford Steam Boiler Insurance and Inspection Company in 1970 in its Baltimore office, transferred to New York in 1974 and held various positions including regional vice president before assuming responsibility for National Accounts in 1983 in the home office in Hartford, Conn. In 1994, he joined HSB Engineering Insurance Limited in London as senior vice president, Marketing. Voegtle and his family returned to the United States in 1997 and he has continued to assist HSB Engineering Insurance Limited.
