Harleysville Names Skelly Director of Commercial Inland Marine

John Skelly has been named director of commercial inland marine for The Harleysville Insurance Companies. In this position, he will direct the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of commercial inland marine operations.

Skelly began his insurance career in 1979 at Royal's William Street location in the financial district of New York. He served as commercial marine manager for Kemper Insurance and then as commercial property and marine manager at Reliance Insurance. Most recently, he was assistant vice president at Zurich North America in Baltimore, MD.

He holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and an associate's degree in business administration and management from St. John's University, New York, NY. He holds the professional designation Associate in Marine Insurance Management (AMIM).
