Grinnell InfoSystems, Inc. Implements DecisionMaker At Jamestown

Honolulu, HI - Decision Research Corporation (DRC), a rating and policy processing software solution provider to the property & casualty insurance industry, recently announced that Grinnell InfoSystems, Inc . (GIS), a subsidiary of Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Company, has successfully implemented DRC's DecisionMaker policy servicing and billing components into their Oasis platform for Jamestown Mutual Insurance. With DecisionMaker, GIS's Oasis System now has the flexibility to support a hybrid line of business, encompassing homeowners and farmowners. DecisionMaker allowed Grinnell's product managers and business analysts to easily configure the user interface, business rules, and rate calculation without the normal detailed involvement of programming resources. This greatly increases the speed in which software solutions can be customized and deployed.

GIS is now positioned to begin upgrading the rest of their customer base with plans for both small server and hosted implementations of the DRC products.

"We needed to create a customized line of business that would be able to support the size and product offerings of our mutual insurance companies," said Mike Ward, President of GIS. "By implementing DecisionMaker, we will be able to support multiple mutual insurance clients through flexible and easily maintainable products, with minimal programmer involvement," he continued.

Karen Yamamoto, DRC's VP of Product Development commented, "Now that GIS has laid the initial groundwork with DecisionMaker, GIS will be able to offer to their hundred plus clients a much faster upgrade path from its legacy policy administration systems to DecisionMaker, leveraging DRC's web based conversion utilities and services. Furthermore, this has been a great opportunity for DRC to add Farmowners and opens up opportunity for DRC to expand the use of the DecisionMaker Suite to a large number of mutual companies."
