Gallagher Completes Several Acquisitions and Purchases

Gallagher Bassett Services, Inc. recently announced the completion of four domestic acquisitions along with the purchase of a majority shareholding in an Australian reinsurance broker. Domestically, the company announced the acquisition of R. L. Youngdahl & Associates, and the Towle Agency, both of Minneapolis, MN, along with the Rebholz Insurance Agency, of St. Louis, MO, and Powell Insurance Services, of Northfield, IL. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

Youngdahl & Associates is one of the largest private insurance agency operation in the Minneapolis area. They offer a full line of commercial property/casualty insurance products.

The Towle Agency provides professional brokerage and consulting services to the commercial real estate sector serving large institutional investors as well as property managers on both the local and national level.

The Rebholz Insurance Agency offers a full range of commercial, personal and property/casualty insurance products.

Powell Insurance Services specializes in individual and commercial accounts with emphasis on colleges and universities, religious entities and non-profit organizations.

Each of these entities will work closely with their respective Gallagher regional management teams to provide the smooth integration of their respective firms and employees into the Gallagher group of companies.

Gallagher also announced the purchase of a majority interest in MBR Pty Limited, headquartered in Sydney, Australia.

MBR provides reinsurance brokerage, underwriting services and insurance brokerage.
