Former Sallie Mae CFO Denise McGlone Named Principal, Aon Financial Products
Aon Capital Markets has named Denise Boutross McGlone, formerly chief financial officer and executive vice president of Sallie Mae, as principal of Aon Financial Products. Aon Financial Products, a unit of Aon Capital Markets, was established in early 1998 to provide integrated risk management and investment banking services to Aon's insurance, reinsurance and corporate client bases.
McGlone, honored in 1997 as a CFO Superstar by Global Finance and as one of Euromoney's Top 50 Women in Finance, was one of the principal architects of the privatization of the former U.S. government student-lending agency. She has substantial experience in both the corporate and financial risk management arenas.
Before becoming Sallie Mae's CFO in 1994, she was global head of derivatives and executive vice president of Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank, based in New York. This capped 10 years working with global derivatives in senior level positions at Security Pacific Merchant Bank and First Chicago Corporation, and marked a return to the first employer she had after earning her MBA from American University.
"We are pleased that Aon Financial Products continues to attract such high caliber professionals," says Kevin Callahan, chairman and chief executive officer of Aon Capital Markets. "Denise's senior level experience in both derivatives and capital markets is unique and will bring a fresh perspective to our clients as they develop risk management solutions."
John Copenhaver, president of Aon Financial Products, adds, "Denise's expertise in measuring, managing and monitoring both capital and risk will be extremely valuable as we create structured investment and financial risk management products for our clients."
