Farmers Insurance Reduces California Homeowner, Renter and Auto Rates
Farmers Insurance says it has lowered auto rates for California customers who also place their homeowners and/or renters insurance with Farmers. The discounts are a result of lower claims costs, the company says.
Currently, customers who have Farmers' homeowners and auto policies receive a 5 percent discount on their auto policy. This discount will be increased up to 9 percent on average. The new renter/auto-insurance discount, effective July 1, offers customers a discount up to 4 percent on auto policies.
Also effective June 1, throughout California, Farmers reduced auto rates on motor homes up to 15 percent. And drivers with 6 to 8 years of driving experience will also receive up to 10 percent discounts on their auto-insurance rates.
"Our research indicates that customers who insure both their auto and home with Farmers have substantially lower claims cost overall," says Steve Feely, California state executive director at Farmers Insurance Group. "Our goal is to reward these customers with the best rates we can provide. Unlike many companies in the industry, we offer a multipolicy discount to renters who represent 45 percent of the California marketplace."
