EXEL Appoints Scotton To Head Up Corporate Communications
EXEL Ltd. has appointed the Bermuda insurance market's information services director, Roger Scotton, to the newly-created position of vice president, Corporate Communications. Scotton, a former international business journalist who has headed the insurance industry's generic information services effort for five years, is expected to join EXEL in January 1999.
"The EXEL Limited group of companies has grown substantially over the past couple of years and now needs an experienced professional to be responsible for its corporate communications functions," said Brian O'Hara, president and CEO of EXEL Ltd. "We believe Roger Scotton's capabilities and track record will make him a real asset to EXEL and we look forward to having him join us in the new year."
Scotton is a former business editor of the Bermuda Sun newspaper and, for many years, was Bermuda correspondent for Business Insurance magazine, Lloyd's List and London's Financial Times. He came to Bermuda in 1980 as financial reporter for the Royal Gazette newspaper after working as a journalist in the Middle East and Britain.
