ERC Employees in "Good Company"
General Electric, parent of GE Employers Reinsurance Corporation (ERC), Insurance Company Segment, has been named ``America's Most Admired Company'' for the third consecutive year in a survey by Fortune magazine.
Fortune Editorial Director Geoffrey Colvin said, ``GE, once again America's most admired corporation by a mile, earns high marks for having fully embraced the powers of e-commerce under Jack Welch's direction.''
Fortune surveyed the country's leading executives, directors and analysts to determine the top ten companies from a list of 1,000 largest U.S. corporations (ranked by revenues) and the 25 largest U.S. subsidiaries of foreign-owned companies. ``America's Most Admired Companies'' appears in the March 7 issue of Fortune.
``This recognizes our company's ability to adapt and change to meet our customer's needs,'' said Dave Calhoun, president and CEO of ERC. ``It's a great tribute to the innovation and service of our people who have made ERC one of the leading reinsurers in the world.''
In October 1999, Fortune named GE ``World's Most Admired Company'' for the second year in a row. The magazine also named GE Chairman and CEO Jack Welch ``Manager of the Century'' in November 1999.
