ECS to Provide Environmental Insurance for Scrap Recyclers

Source: ECS, Inc.

An environmental insurance program designed especially for scrap recyclers was recently introduced by ECS, Inc. Underwriting. The program was designed with the cooperation of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries, (ISRI) and is exclusively available to its members.

To purchase the most appropriate insurance for their operations, ISRI members have a choice of five coverage modules. Available coverages include third party loss, first party loss, products pollution liability, non-owned disposal site liability and contingent transportation liability.

"Environmental exposures can have a significant impact on the financial stability of any business," said Joseph Catanese, assistant vice president of ECS Underwriting's environmental facilities business unit. "To protect ISRI members, ECS Underwriting has designed an affordable environmental insurance program that is flexible enough to allow members to individualize their coverage to best meet their risk management needs."

ECS Underwriting writes environmental coverages on behalf of U.S. insurance subsidiaries of XL Capital.
