Symplex Communications Corp.'s Datamizer II product, first introduced in 1987, was one of the industry's first network enhancement devices to provide 4-to-1 data compression.

Datamizer II is the second generation of Datamizer products that enhance performance and scalability for enterprise networks. Since its inception, the Ann Arbor, MI-based Symplex has also launched Datamizer III in 1989, Datamizer IV in 1992 and Datamizer V in 1997.
