Cypress Care To Launch New Generation Of Sequoia™ Online At Florida Workers Compensation Conference

Atlanta, GA - Cypress Care, a pharmacy benefits management company focused exclusively on workers compensation, announced the launch of its new generation of Sequoia™ Online. The software system provides real-time business intelligence to help payers make informed decisions about their drug spending, facilitate claims administration and control the cost of their pharmacy programs, claims Cypress Care. The software will be introduced at the 61st Annual Florida Workers Compensation Educational Conference in Orlando.

According to Cypress Care, Sequoia gives adjusters, case managers and other designated users 24-hour secured online access to pharmacy claims management directly from their PCs. They can input, extract and edit claims data, define and modify claims-start and termination dates and create an audit trail of "keyed in" actions on a claim. Electronically managing a wide range of claims processes eliminates paper work that can slow claims processing and add to administrative costs, adds the company.

With Sequoia, payers can track the top ten brand drugs and generic drugs being prescribed and physician prescribing trends, including top brand-dispensing and generic-dispensing doctors, according to Cypress Care. The system calculates the average life of a claim and issues email notification to claims professionals flagging termination dates and other trigger events, claims the company. According to Cypress Care, Sequoia's distinctive features is its "patient journal," a process that captures and stores every touch point on a claim, including in and outbound calls, notes, script fills and adjuster changes to term dates.

By incorporating its durable medical supplies service into its new Sequoia system, Cypress Care also gives claims professionals a single source for administering the drug and medical equipment portion of their workers compensation claims, adds the company.
