Crawford & Company Appoints Jeffery C. McWey as Senior Executive Vice President, Chief Business Officer
Crawford & Company has appointed Jeffery C. McWey to the newly created position of senior executive vice president and chief business officer, effective June 15. He will oversee the company's worldwide efforts in sales, marketing, product development and information technology.
McWey will report directly to Crawford chairman, president and CEO Dennis Smith. Smith says, "Jeff McWey brings to Crawford his expertise in driving revenue growth, market planning and the use of information technology. He has a very strong record in helping his companies and his client companies achieve growth in profitable revenues. At Crawford, he will direct our continuing efforts to elevate our sales and marketing activities and to develop information as a corporate asset."
In January 1994, McWey joined Equifax as president of Atlanta-based Elrick & Lavidge, one of the largest custom marketing research firms in the United States. Simultaneously, he was named senior vice president and general manager of the Marketing Services Division of Equifax, with responsibility for National Decision Systems of San Diego and Quick Test of Framingham, MA.
Before joining Equifax, he spent 14 years with Dun & Bradstreet. As an account executive in Milwaukee, he quickly became a top producer in his district. He received a series of promotions to the district and regional levels and was named vice president and regional manager of the 15-state Southeast region and the governmental market in 1987. The operations he supervised were consistently among Dun & Bradstreet's leaders in sales growth and profitability. He also consulted with four Fortune 500 companies on re-engineering their businesses.
He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Madison and has completed Executive Development programs at Harvard and Yale universities. He is chairman-elect of the Atlanta chapter of the American Red Cross and a member of the board of directors of the Southern Region of American Red Cross Blood Services. He has also served on the Cystic Fibrosis board for 10 years and is a member of the Atlanta Rotary.
