CPCU-Harry J. Loman Foundation Honors CPCU Grads In San Diego
Of the 2,409 persons who earned the CPCU professional designation in 1998, five people achieved top honors for their performance on the 10 examinations that CPCU candidates must pass to complete the program.
The top graduate is Daniel F. Dwyer III, CPCU, ARM, AAI, an agent with Nationwide Insurance, Newport, RI. Dwyer earned the highest grade average on the 10 CPCU exams and was awarded a plaque as the CPCU Distinguished Graduate and a check for $1,000.
The four winners of a CPCU Award for Academic Excellence each receive a plaque and a check for $750. Honored at the ceremony in San Diego were Beth Ann Black, CPCU, commercial department manager, Lake Agency, Inc., Flint, MI; Francis J. Kelly, CPCU, ARe, vice president, Signet Star Reinsurance Company, Florham Park, NJ; Richard P. Kovatchitch, CPCU, senior programmer/analyst, Farm Family Insurance Companies, Albany, NY; and Rebecca A. Mohr, CPCU, AAM, manager-systems and programming, claims services, SAFECO Insurance Companies, Indianapolis, IN.
