Compuware Expanding Wausau Office with Former Insurer Staff
Compuware Corporation and Wausau Insurance announced that approximately 50 Wausau Insurance employees will be hired to work in an expanded local Compuware office. The Compuware agreement is part of Wausau Insurance's continuing effort to minimize local job loss due to a recently announced reorganization within the Liberty Mutual Group. Wausau Insurance has been a member of the Boston- based Liberty Mutual Group since January 1, 1999.
Compuware, which currently employs 16 people in its Wausau office, provides contract programming services for Wausau Insurance.
Kelly Cannon, vice president for Liberty Mutual and chief information officer for Wausau Insurance, said, ``We have actively sought opportunities for our people with a first-rate partner with the resources to undertake a staff transitioning program. Today, I'm very pleased to join Compuware in announcing an agreement that will create exciting new career opportunities for many of our talented people here in Wausau.''
``We're thrilled to add this skilled group of people to the Compuware Professional Services Division,'' said Pete Sampson, regional vice president for Compuware. ``We see this as a tremendous opportunity to expand our presence in central Wisconsin while supporting the professional and personal growth of these new employees. This addition to our staff immediately improves Compuware's ability to provide clients with superior service for their enterprise and e-commerce applications.''
Compuware hopes to have its local branch office up and running by February 2000. The new hires will participate in an extensive retraining program. Most will continue to provide service to Wausau Insurance during 2000, and will later be assigned to other clients in northcentral Wisconsin.
Compuware, which has 1,300 employees in Wisconsin, has branch offices in Appleton, Madison and Milwaukee.
Sampson said most of the new hires have accepted offers with pay and benefits that are similar to their current compensation package at Wausau Insurance.
