CIGNA Property & Casualty Names Select Markets Exec

CIGNA Property & Casualty recently named Louis Iacovelli as senior vice president, Select Markets for Specialty Insurance Services. In this position, Iacovelli oversees CIGNA P&C's national customer service and telemarketing center in Virginia Beach, along with its Farm & Ranch and Crop/Hail businesses.

Iacovelli joined CIGNA P&C's Business Research and Development organization in March 1997 as vice president, Product Development and Research. In this role, he worked closely with CIGNA P&C's various business units on all aspects of new product development, including research and product distribution management.

"Lou's strong strategic focus, his more than 25 years of experience in the insurance field, and his previous agribusiness experience will further enhance the multiple-distribution and Farm & Ranch business-development initiatives already underway," said William Palgutt, president of the Specialty Insurance Services division of CIGNA P&C. "Innovation in products and expanding our distribution channels are key components of the long-term growth strategies of our Select Market businesses."

Prior to joining CIGNA P&C, Iacovelli headed his own consulting firm, New Marketing Consulting, in Summit, NJ. He also has held senior-level marketing and sales positions at Motor Club of America Insurance Co., Continental Insurance Co. and Home Insurance Co. He received a bachelor of science degree from Seton Hall University and graduated from Harvard Business School's executive education program focusing on strategic marketing management.
