CIGNA Names Gerges, Rohrkemper to New Posts

CIGNA Corporation announced today that David B. Gerges has been named senior vice president and CIGNA's treasurer, replacing Paul H. Rohrkemper, who has been named to the new position of senior vice president of strategic planning for the company.

Prior to his new assignment, Gerges had been senior vice president and chief financial officer of CIGNA Retirement & Investment Services since 1988. He began his career with CIGNA in 1974 and progressed through a series of actuarial assignments in various businesses, eventually becoming vice president and actuary for CIGNA Re, the company's life, accident and health reinsurance business. Prior to joining CIGNA, Gerges served as an instructor at the U.S. Navy's Nuclear Power School. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and received a masters of science degree from Penn State.

Rohrkemper served as senior vice president and treasurer of the company since 1988. He began his career with CIGNA in an actuarial position, and completed a succession of increasingly more responsible actuarial assignments. Rohrkemper is a graduate of the University of Michigan. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and a member of the National Association of Corporate Treasurers.
