Chapman, Thomas and Lauer Head SAFECO Property and Casualty Enterprises

SAFECO announced that, in addition to their positions as senior vice presidents of SAFECO's property and casualty insurance companies, Donald Chapman, William Thomas and Dale Lauer have been named chief operating officers of SAFECO's three property and casualty enterprises. Each will be responsible for all operations associated with the commercial lines, personal lines and business insurance enterprises and will continue to report to Randy Stoddard, president of SAFECO Property and Casualty Insurance Companies.

Chapman, who began his career with SAFECO in 1962, was named chief operating officer for SAFECO Commercial Insurance, the enterprise that writes insurance for medium-to-large commercial accounts.

Thomas, CPCU, has been named chief operating officer of SAFECO's personal lines enterprise.

Lauer has been named chief operating officer of American States Business Insurance, the enterprise that writes insurance for small-to-medium-sized businesses.
