Bruce Livingston Named President of Professional Underwriters Company John Solari named company's Chief Underwriting Officer

Bruce Livingston, CPCU, AIC, has been named president of Professional Underwriters Company (PUC), a Wayne, Pa. underwriting services organization for commercial insurance programs. He will lead PUC's continuing success in private label program development, as well as the expansion of the company's custom underwriting and special technical services capabilities. PUC is a subsidiary of Mutual Risk Management, Ltd.

"Bruce brings broad commercial underwriting experience and strategic leadership to this position," said John Kessock, Jr., president of Mutual Risk Management. "Under his direction, we expect PUC to build on its reputation for first-class underwriting service, expand its base of specially crafted programs and attract new market opportunities with reinsurers and intermediaries."

For the past seven years, Livingston served as executive vice president of Underwriting/Technical Services at PUC, and was responsible for the maintenance and expansion of underwriting authorities delegated by various commercial insurers. He is a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Claims (AIC).

Prior to 1993, he was director of underwriting at Crum & Foster Commercial Insurance Company. A resident of Harleysville, Pa., he received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Texas Tech University. He is member of the Society of CPCU, and a strong advocate of continuing educational development in conjunction with Insurance Institute of America and the Insurance Society of Philadelphia.

John Solari, CPCU, ARM, was promoted from executive vice president--standard lines to chief underwriting officer at PUC, and will be responsible for maintaining underwriting quality and consistency throughout PUC operations.
Solari joined PUC in 1993 and played a pivotal role in managing the underwriting and support service teams in standard lines. He has also held positions with Aetna Life & Casualty Company, Cigna Property & Casualty Insurance Co. and Foley Insurance Agency.

A Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Solari earned a MBA from St. Joseph's University, Philadelphia and a bachelor's degree from LaSalle University, Philadelphia. He is a resident of Lansdale, Pa.
