Benchmarking Tool

FM Global Corporate Headquarterss a benchmarking tool that provides customers with a numerical score, indicating relative risk quality for each customer location. Using this approach, engineers can plot individual locations on a single graph that will display all of an account's locations. The engineer then develops an account average against various industry groups to help customers prioritize their risk intervention strategy by location.

The location score is developed by running key site and exposure information through a software program that is able to differentiate risk quality within three major exposure groups: fire and associated perils, natural hazards and occupancy. Individual exposure group weightings incorporate FM Global engineering company's loss experience so the score provides a relative indication of risk quality as well as a relative probability of loss. The overall benchmark represents a composite score of the three exposure groups.
