AT&T Exec Joins Harleysville Group Board

Mirian Graddick has been elected a director of Harleysville Group, effective February 23, 2000, for a term that will expire in 2002. Graddick is executive vice president of human resources at AT&T, where she is responsible for the design, planning and administration of human resources programs for AT&T's more than 147,000 employees worldwide.

She was recently named to the list of ``Top 50 Blacks in Corporate America'' by Black Enterprise magazine. In 1990, she received AT&T's Catherine B. Cleary ``Woman of the Year'' Award.

In addition to her position with Harleysville, Graddick serves on the board of the National Medical Fellowships Inc.

Graddick holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Hampton University, as well as a master's degree and doctorate of philosophy in industrial/organization psychology from Pennsylvania State University.

Harleysville Group is a holding company that includes nine regional property and casualty insurance companies whose marketing territory encompasses 32 states primarily in the eastern half of the United States. The companies include Great Oaks Insurance Company; Harleysville-Atlantic Insurance Company; Harleysville Insurance Company of New Jersey; Huron Insurance Company; Lake States Insurance Company; Mid-America Insurance Company; Minnesota Fire and Casualty Company; New York Casualty Insurance Company; and Worcester Insurance Company.
