Applied Systems, the University Park, IL-based agency automation firm, announced four promotions to, as it says, "strengthen its executive team and enhance its ability to manage the company's rapid growth and new opportunities."

Timothy McIntyre was named president and chief operating officer of the company, reporting to James Kellner, who remains chairman and CEO. McIntyre, previously with Inland Steel Industries, joined Applied Systems in May 1998 as chief financial officer.

"Tim brings strong expertise in planning, implementation and control," said Kellner. "His experience with Fortune 200 companies and skill at managing large and complex operations will be invaluable as we continue our rapid growth and expansion."

In his new capacity, McIntyre will continue to direct the financial operations of the company.

Patrick Kellner previously executive vice president of sales and implementation services, was named to the newly created position of president of company products and e-commerce. "We created this new position
to more aggressively pursue and better serve the insurance carrier segment of the market and to accelerate the rollout of our suite of E-commerce products," stated James Kellner. "Pat's thorough understanding of the insurance marketplace and the needs of our customers will make him extremely successful in expanding these product lines."

Robert Juracka was named executive vice president of sales and implementation services, replacing Patrick Kellner. Previously, he served as senior vice president and national sales manager.

Amy Letke who joined the company as vice president of human resources in November 1998, was promoted to executive vice president of human resources.
